Nose
Chocolate orange.
Palate
Mostly sweet and malty but with lots of refreshing orange fruitiness and an almost liquoricelike bitterness from the hops.
Finish
Long, dry, bitter and peppery, with roasted grain emerging and orange still in evidence.
Comment
Arguably too hoppy and bitter for a mild, but this is a fine, red beer with a good combination of malt and hop flavours.

Yeasty, with a scent of fermented black beans.
Palate
An astringent hump after a sweet, fruity start.
Finish
Woody, hoppy and clean.
Comment
Overall, thin-bodied and somewhat tame, but pleasantly so, particularly toward the finish.
