Nose
Deep Ovaltine maltiness, with some chocolate and rich toffee.
Palate
The first thing to strike you is the light, airy mouthfeel, which lifts the ample, powdery, bitter chocolate and toffee-like malt notes and stops the palate becoming too cloying.
Finish
Bitter chocolate and toffee linger but – without carbonation here – it's just a little bit thick.
Comment
A West Midlands beer incorporating raw cocoa powder and vanilla, delivering interesting flavours and a great texture.

Nose
Roasted malt and bitter chocolate, which you'd expect, and a whiff of washing powder, which you wouldn't. But it's not an unpleasant surprise.
Palate
Full bodied with roasted malt notes dominating, but altogether much lighter than expected.
Finish
Bitter and drying. Like a spoonful of cocoa powder.
Comment
Good flavours, well balanced, not bad at all.
