Nose
Full malty nose with treacle toffee and a little chocolate.
Palate
Smooth and rich. Deep caramel and malt flavours fill the mouth, with none of the expected roasted grain notes. Hints of liquorice and dried banana.
Finish
Dry, yet malty, with caramel. Lightly bitter and warming.
Comment
An unusual porter – there are no coffee or pronounced chocolate flavours and the body is rather full. Lithuanian beers clearly state whether or not they are pasteurised (which this one is), so full marks for honesty and clarity.
