Nose
Massive attack of pear drops, drowning out chocolaty malt.
Palate
Bitter with more estery, pear drop flavours to the fore. Sweet, chocolatey malt behind. Faint blackcurrant fruitiness.
Finish
Bitter and drying. Fairly astringent, in fact. Chocolate/malt lingers softly.
Comment
A bronze beer that would be better if the chocolate flavours could fight their way through the dominant esters and bitterness.
