Nose

Fruit features prominently, with oranges and red berries to the fore. Otherwise, it's a mix of creamy, but not forceful, malt, earthy hop resins and alcohol.

Palate

Powerfully hoppy yet surprisingly light in body, thanks to an airy, creamy texture. Tangy hop resins dominate over subtle berry and cherry fruits and a smooth, mellow, malty sweetness.

Finish

There's a hoppy burn on the swallow, with tangy, leafy hops continuing to control the finish, overshadowing creamy malt and a cognac-like alcohol note.

Comment

A chunky, take-no-prisoners barley wine with the hop rate of an IPA, or even a double IPA.
