Smoky, biscuity roasted malt and light winey fruit, with caramel and coffee undertones.
Palate
Smoky and slightly peaty with light chocolate flavours and a somewhat chalky texture. Bittersweet, it's more of a porter than a stout, with a biscuity malt character. Spicy alcohol notes and gentle tropical fruits waft around in the background, underlining its strength.
Finish
Dry, with roasted grain and bitter chocolate.
Comment
I'm not keen on the chalky dryness but otherwise this is a very pleasant strong, garnet-coloured beer that drinks a lot lighter than its ABV would suggest.
