Nose

Sharp tangerine-citrus notes, a hint of bubblegum and light malt with suggestions of caramel.

Palate

Sharp, refreshing citrus notes lead the way, joined by sweet malt and bitter hops.

Finish

Slow to pick up and fades quite quickly, too. Malt comes first, then bitterness, with citrus orange and tangerine flavours present.

Comment

Pleasant and clean, with various levels of flavour, but it's a bit thin and understated overall.

Nose

Currants and age. Cranberries and caramelly malt.

Palate

Zingy. Surprisingly light and refreshing for a vintage beer, no doubt from the successful bottle-conditioning.

Finish

Dries, then floods your mouth leaving a lingering pepperyness.

Comment

Mmmmm. Not dissimilar to Sharp's Special, but with that little bit extra (for me, anyway).
