Nose: Malty and chocolatey with caramel undertones. Biscuity notes emerge.
Palate: Rich and coffee-flavoured, with moments of espresso bitterness. There's a backdrop of caramel, and some plain chocolate floating around, with the tartness of dried fruit adding another dimension. Fairly sweet but also crisp and clean.
Finish: Drying and bittersweet, becoming more bitter as the coffee/roasted grain flavours take over.
Comment: Tasty and mellow with plenty of dark malt flavours yet little of the associated bitterness.
