Nose
Spicy, hoppy, with a twist of lemon.
Palate
All rather peculiar. The sharp citrus notes bring back memories of sherbet dabs, but there's also an earthy spiciness. Underneath all this lies a base of delicate malt. Bittersweet overall.
Finish
Peppery, hop-dry and bittersweet, with lingering lemon and an almost chilli-like warmth.
Comment
A classily presented pale golden lager from Estonia's oldest brewery, but it has to be one of the strangest beers I've tasted for a while. Was my sample typical? It's not unpleasant, just very odd.
