Nose
Pungent hop resins over a deep, treacly malt base, plus an earthy apricot fruitiness.
Palate
Malty and smooth with roasted nut character. A prickle of spicy, citrus hops prevents it cloying.
Finish
Dry, bitter and malty, with nut and chocolate gradually giving way to tangy hops.
Comment
Big flavours – as always at this Oregon brewery – with hops taking over what is initially a malty beer. If you like bland beers, stay away.
