Nose: Stand back: a powerful, tart and vinous aroma of chocolate, raisins, oranges, leather, sherry and smoke, with a slight woody note and a nutmeg-like spiciness.
Palate: Very sweet and fruity – strawberries, dried fruits and juicy Seville oranges. Winey, peppery-warming and creamy in places, with soft dark malt flavours but no great coffee or chocolate notes.
Finish: Gum-tingling, raisin-fruity, creamy and sweet, with sugary traces left on the lips. Drying.
Comment: An exceptionally sweet Czech porter – complex and packed with flavour.
