Nose: Vanilla and creamy malt, supported by herbal hops and a lime-like sourness. Where have the big hops gone?
Palate: Big, tangy, hoppy flavour, herbal and lime-like. The malty foundation is silky smooth but less buttery than remembered.
Finish: Long, dry and herbal-hoppy. The buttery character finally comes through. The best feature.
Comment: An art treasure that needs a little restoration. Still a very fine beer with remarkable body for its strength, but not as classy as it used to be.
