Mostly sweet and malty, with a creamy, grainy texture and full, syrupy body. Alcohol vapours and their associated warmth wash around the palate.
Finish
After a smooth swallow, sweetness lingers then gives way to a dry, hoppy and malty finish that is a little bit chewy and leaves a glow at the back of the throat.
Comment
This golden lager certainly delivers in power and flavour but lacks the subtlety and elegance to be a class act.

Nose
Quite a surprising aroma, in terms of intensity. Full, with nice graininess, alongside caramel, and a faintly peppery quality.
Palate
Robust, mouthfilling quality, with a nice full texture. Full-bodied but fairly dry, with a nice hop character (black pepper, aniseed, orange peel).
Finish
Slight warmth in finish. Very nice.
Comment
It says Gran Riserva on the label for a reason – it's really a big step up in quality from Peroni's other beers. A very enjoyable lager, with plenty of character.
