Palm Brewery Palm

Nose: Firm hoppy aroma with suggestions of black tea and liquorice against a rich malty backdrop.
Palate: More spicy hop flavours lead the way, amply countered by abundant, silky, slightly nutty malt. Faintly orangey, with nods toward whisky in places, it's also tannin-dry with gentle hints of aniseed.
Finish: Dry and bitter with an almost astringent tannin dryness.
Comment: What the Belgians call a mass market ale, now available in the UK via Coors. It's a fine beer, well balanced and packing plenty of interest.
