Raisins take the lead with a dark chocolate maltiness in support. Bittersweet and drying.
Finish
Dry and bitter with burnt grain notes.
Comment
Rather tired-tasting and the finish is the best feature. Not a patch on its cask-conditioned equivalent, which was voted Champion Beer of Britain in 2000.

Nose
Burnt toast and freshly-laid tarmac with a hint of Colombian coffee beans.
Palate
Without much maltpresence, the roasty character does much to give the illusion of a full body.
Finish
Satisfyingly dry and dusty with an aftertaste of unsweetened chocolate and bittering hops.
Comment
Ideal for fans of burnt and roasted flavours in their session strength beer.
