Crumbly digestive biscuits, plain chocolate and a slightly tart edge.
While there's certainly malty sweetness here, this is a predominantly bitter stout, packed with roasted grains and plain chocolate flavours. A biting tartness and a lightness of texture add further dimensions.
Rather thick, bitter and dry with lots of roasted grain character.
An excellent stout, clean, fresh and packed with flavour for its relatively modest strength. Perhaps a little light on the swallow, but it finishes well.
