Nose
Slightly sour, with bitter dark malts and nods towards coffee and some plain chocolate.
Palate
The slight sourness continues, along with creamy dark malt flavours, traces of plain chocolate and coffee. Lightly spicy and tangy, too. Bittersweet overall.
Finish
Dry and softly bitter from the roasted grain. Also a hoppy tang.

A traditional ‘black beer' with character from the old East Germany, now in the care of Bitburger.
