Lightly perfumed, with hints of pear drop to compete with the herbal hop notes, the twist of lemon and the cereal sweetness.
Palate
As smooth as felt, if just a bit cloying, with carbonation fairly low. Gentle perfumed fermentation flavours float along with the drying hops. Bittersweet but with a
moreish savoury note.
Finish
Smooth on the swallow leading onto a tangy, nicely bitter, hoppy finish with more savoury notes.
Comment
Not as crisp or refreshing as the other beers tasted but this Rhineland beer is unusual and grows on you.
