Deeply woody, with tart oak and an acetic note. Strawberries emerge as the beer warms.
Palate
Plenty of character here, with a resemblance to an aged Belgian sour ale, but this is bittersweet on the whole, with a toasted malt note and an oaky dryness to crisp it up.
Finish
Dry and oaky, with lingering winey fruit and a soft bitterness. It's a little disappointing, though rather thin after the interesting mouth flavours and fading quickly.
Comment
One of the best Innis & Gunn offerings, even if the finish lacks some intensity.
