Nose
Pungently oaky – the wholesome smell of a carpenter's shop – with treacley malt behind.
Palate
Decisively woody and tangy, but fairly sweet with a smooth dark malt presence that brings a touch of chocolate. Not a heavy beer.
Finish
Firmly dry, thick and woody, with a little sugary malt lingering on the palate.
Comment
This variation on the Innis & Gunn theme is all about tangy oak, with not too much else in the mix. Pleasant though.

Nose
Distinctively smoked peat that hits immediately.
Palate
Taste is thin with acidic notes hitting but fading quickly.
Finish
Sourness is dominant but is transient.
Comment
Dark brown beer that promises much with aroma but is dominated by sourness.
