Nose
Grainy, biscuity, roasted malt. Oat like oily creaminess. Some winey fruit. Suggestion of liquorice.
Palate
Rich dark, nutty malts. Predominant sweetness. Background winey fruit.
Finish
Dry, with nutty roasted malts. Increasingly bitter but the sweetness persists. Hop notes develop strongly.
Comment
A ruby beer of contrasting flavours that lives up to its full name, although maybe just a touch too sweet in the mouth.
