Nose

Oaky, tangy and tart, with smooth dark malt and whisky, along with suggestions of orange zest.

Palate

Despite the deep dark malt flavours this beer has a surprising delicacy. Whisky comes through, and a little succulent tropical fruit.

Finish

Tangy oak lingers in the dry finish, but has plenty of company from malty sweetness, bitter chocolate, whisky and warmth.

Comment

This is the one of the three Ola Dubhs that shows its heritage most. A high quality beer with a lovely lightness of touch.

Wild honey notes aided by hints of red currants and peatiness.

Palate

Initially vinous but espresso flavours join in.

Finish

Honey with chardonnay oakiness and perfumed notes combine.

Black with red tinges, Subtle head.
