Nose

Slightly tart and vinously fruity. Treacle, liquorice and thick dark malt emerge.

Palate

Full bodied and packed with flavours. Sweetish up front, giving way to liquorice, vinous tangy bitterness, caramel and coffee. Gently warming.

Finish

The vinous sharpness burns the throat a little. Bitterness, coffee and liquorice in equal measure.

Comment

A bold, demanding beer for the Battle of Trafalgar commemorations. An acquired taste.
