Hanssens Oude Gueuze

Nose: Sharp, tart and lightly citrus, with a distinct toasted nuttiness.
Palate: Acetic, sour, tart and nutty, puckering the mouth and burning the throat. Vinous and intense.
Finish: Dry, vinegary and mildly bitter, with an oaky character and a vague hint of strawberry.
Comment: A truly serious oude gueuze, built for aficionados and sure to scare the pants off beginners. It takes a lot of understanding, but rewards the persistent.
