Buttery, oaky vanilla and nutty malt. Lightly spicy.
Oaky, creamy and bittersweet with a hoppy backbite. There are raisin flavours mixed in with the malty sweetness, a little orange zest and also a light whisky accent. Softly warming.
Quite thick but very pleasant – a bittersweet finish with raisins, malt and oak.
It may be a little light for its strength but this copper-red beer – a blend of a best bitter and a doppelbock that has been aged in whisky casks – is a success. It compares very favourably with the Innis & Gunn beer featured among the new releases.
