Nose
Spicy, sappy hops and nutty malt.
Palate
Tart, sappy notes provide a refreshing edge up front, but there's a pleasant sweetness from the malt for contrast. Vague fruity notes, too – plum?
Finish
Bitter, hoppy and dry with hops that linger and linger. Nutty malts also hangs in there.
Comment
A good, robust beer with a nice sweetness in the mouth and a satisfyingly bitter finish. This was first tasted here in 2006 and the flavour profile seems quite different today, and for the better.
