Nose

Musty, earthy tart fruit.

Palate

Sweetish yet drying. Bitter oranges compete with wild yeast fermentation flavours. Acidic and musty with a light texture and a lively natural carbonation. Plenty of hops throughout.

Finish

Dry, bitter and hoppy with more bitter oranges and citrus peel.

Comment

A big-flavoured, fruity beer, a successful homage to the classic Belgian Trappist ale Orval and just as challenging, though not as dry. Brewed in part with wild yeasts.
