Nose

Slightly savoury at first, then malty and gently fruity.

Palate

Mostly bitter with dark malts, chocolate and hints of liquorice.

Finish

Dry and biscuity, with bitter roast malt and dark chocolate notes.

Comment

A ruby-coloured mild with plenty of flavour, but perhaps a touch too dry and thin to be truly satisfying. Don't be confused by the label that gives the brewery name as Fugelestou. This is an old spelling of Fulstow, a village in the Lincolnshire marshes where the business is based.
