Nose

Fresh and sherbety. Smooth, but unobstrusive malt sits behind and marmalade notes emerge.

Palate

Sharp hops lead over plenty of ripe malt, with a touch of toffee. There's a light orange presence and a gentle warmth but it's fairly light for the strength.

Finish

Rich and drying, with smooth malt dominated by hops that leave a bitter orange flavour.

Comment

As classy as ever, but perhaps not the most complex of Vintage Ales for a few years. It'll be interesting to re-taste in a year or two's time.

Palate

Savoury and slightly nutty (almond skins?).

Finish

Bitterness increases very slowly. Orange peel and nuts.

Comment

Amazingly well balanced and luxuriously presented. Opening a bottle of this really feels like a treat.
