Richly malty and biscuity, with hints of tea and chocolate, plus a little raisin.
Palate
Lots of juicy malt takes this onto the sweet side, but bitter hop resins add some balance. Tea and chocolate are again in evidence, plus a raisin-like fruitiness.
Finish
Smoothly malty but bitter, drying all the time.
Comment
A full-flavoured, nicely balanced, deep amber-red beer,
perhaps not quite as sweet as in the days when it was brewed at Gale's in Horndean.

Fresh hay and brown sugar. Compost and beef stock. A little spicy.
