There's a little spicy, citrus hop immediately on the nose but malt soon takes over, bringing soft toffee notes.
Palate
Smooth, dry malt is the foundation, overlaid with a subtle zing of bitter oranges from the hops. Gently bitter, with a crisp, salty note throughout.
Finish
Dry, hoppy, bitter and agreeably moreish.
Comment
An enjoyable quaffing ale with plenty of interest for its strength and fine clean flavours. Now brewed by Fuller's at Chiswick since the closure of the Gale's brewery.
