Spicy and hoppy, with background fruit (melon, apricot and orange) and zesty, juicy aromas emerging more strongly. Good malt balance.
Palate
Bittersweet and fruity (more oranges and apricots, plus a little hint of pineapple). Sappy hop resins add to the mix.
Finish
Tangy hops dry the finish and build the bitterness, but fruity sweetness lingers awhile also.
Comment
Rather sweet for a such a hoppy beer – the interesting ingredient is Fairtrade Demerara sugar from Malawi – but lots of good, clean fruity flavours and a moreish dry finish. The continental hop strain used is Tradition. This could also have been included in our review of organic beers.
