Nose
Gentle coffee leads the way. Biscuity malt follows on with tart dark fruits and developing caramel notes.
Palate
Smooth, malty body. Bittersweet, with a pleasant citrus fruitiness edging out dark malt flavours. There's a hint of liquorice in the bitter notes.
Finish
Dry and rather bitter, with both hops and roasted grain coming through strongly. Bitter chocolate flavours linger.
Comment
This award-winning Cambridgeshire brew has a rather bitter finish for a mild, but the moreish dryness is an enjoyable feature.
