Nose
Piney hops, alcohol, tropical fruit and bitter oranges.
Palate
Sweet up front but with plenty of bitter, piney, leafy hops for balance, as well as tropical fruits and oranges. Gently warming, with a light, airy texture.
Finish
After a warming swallow, dry, bitter and full, with more leafy, earthy hop notes.
Comment
A robust and tangy – rather than smooth and mellow – barley wine, perhaps more akin to a strong IPA.
