Pears and dark chocolate, plus liquorice and a woody note.
Palate
Estery notes are immediately obvious, bringing flavours of pear, tropical fruits and even butternut
squash. The strength almost stings the palate, leaving chocolatey malt to provide the balm. Alcohol vapours bounce around the tongue.
Finish
There's a tingly warmth, but dry, roasted grain is much more evident here. Fairly thick, softly bitter and takes time to build.
Comment
An unctuous, deep garnet- coloured beer. Complex and characterful, but too obviously strong for my taste.

Nose
Distinctive aroma of sandalwood.
Palate
Liquorice and molasses combined. Reminiscent of Italian digestivo, Averna.
