Malty and creamy at first. Gentle vinous fruit eventually gives way to bitter oranges and a whiff of Darjeeling tea.
Palate
Sweet, with a distinct, slightly wild Belgian character. Gently warming.
Finish
Surprisingly shallow on the swallow, building into a mellow, spicy, hoppy and dry, subtle finish with lingering soft vine fruits. Rather moreish as a result.
Comment
The label declares it is ‘brewed with Belgian beer sugars, green raisins and a sense of purpose'. The result is a very nicely balanced ale that is not over-fruity and all too quaffable for its ABV.
