Dogfish Head 90 Minute Imperial IPA

Nose: Glorious fresh hop aromas, with a resin bite but also big floral, fruity notes.
Palate: Powerful and palate dominating. Pungent, peppery hops burn into the tastebuds. Floral, fruity flavours wash around on top. A kick of alcoholic warmth leaves you in no doubt about the strength.
Finish: Lipsmacking hops dry the palate, with bitter citrus notes persisting. More tingling alcohol.
Comment: The balance is great but this is a formidable drink that smacks you between the eyes. A good example of the current US trend towards potent, robustly hoppy ales.
