Sweet and fruity at first, then hints of chocolate and nut from the malt take over. You also find red berries, tropical fruit and delicate hop resins without looking too hard.
Palate
Quite lively on the tongue, featuring resin-like hops, bitter red berries, nutty malt, tropical fruit and a complicated spiciness.
Finish
Dry, malty and nutty yet firmly hoppy at the same time.
Comment
Very well balanced and always interesting, this 19th century survivor of the original IPA boom is all too easy to drink for its strength. Credit to Coors for investing in
this erstwhile badly-abused brand.
