Nose
Yeasty and fruity (oranges and dark berries).
Palate
Malty and peppery, although a sugary sweetness is the main feature. Hops bring balance and a little fruit (citrus and cherry/dark berries). Some alcoholic warmth but otherwise light drinking for its strength.
Finish
Peppery and spicy. Quite thick, as malt and bitterness linger well. Underlying winey character.
Comment
A complex red ale that has bags of flavour but lacks a little refinement.
