Eventually malty and spicy but spoiled at first by vegetal aromas.
Palate
Plenty of body, yet crisp, too. Nutty, sour whiskyish notes dominate, countered only by a light bitterness and a soft herbal tang.
Finish
Slow to build but eventually drying, increasingly bitter and herbal hoppy, with more suggestions of whisky in the gentle warmth.
Comment
A truly strange golden beer. The taste is one that may have to be acquired – there's a dosing of lactic acid during the lagering period – but it certainly earns marks for being different.
