Nose
A rather gentle aroma of dark malts and raisins.
Palate
Earthy, grapey fruit flavours blend with bittersweet dark malts. There's also liquorice and a mellow background maltiness.
Finish
Dry and fairly thick but bitterness picks up, dark chocolate notes emerge and the beer becomes a little tangy from the hops.
Comment
An interesting and complex, unpasteurised, fresh-tasting black lager from a family-run Czech brewery.
