Nose
Malt and creamy toffee with a light herbal hop note.
Palate
Sharper and more tart than the nose suggests with a crisp, herbal accent. The creamy maltiness continues but the beer falls on the bitter side of bittersweet.
Finish
Increasingly hoppy and bitter but still rather mellow with lingering sweetness.
Comment
A well-balanced beer with plenty of flavour. This and the other Bennett's beers reviewed are contract brewed for New Zealand beer marketer Maurice Bennett, who doesn't run a brewery.
