Nose: Lush tropical and citrus fruits – pineapple, grapefruit and a little banana – all with smooth malt support.
Palate: Full, smooth maltiness is overlaid by tangy, prickly hops and awash with estery and hoppy tropical fruits. Pleasant citrus tartness and juiciness throughout, with grapefruit and lime the main flavours. Complex, with a spicy alcoholic warmth.
Finish: Robust, bitter and hoppy, drying the mouth all the time. Light pineapple notes and grapefruit linger awhile.
Comment: A full-value, golden ale showcasing the best of American hops.
