Nose

Full, smoky and peaty, like a rich Bavarian smoked cheese. Also biscuity.

Palate

Smoky and peaty with a lightening, airy texture at all times. Dark chocolate lingers in the shadows, with some dried fruit and a touch of citrus fruit freshness.

Finish

Dry, chocolatey and slightly chalky. Peat smoke still wafts around and bitterness pushes through.

Comment

The peaty smoke flavours take a bit of getting used to but this is a surprisingly easy drinking strong porter that would work wonderfully with shellfish. A world classic.
